Copyright and Licences

How credits and open licences work on TeaLamp.

Overview

Last updated: October 3, 2026.

Most articles on TeaLamp are republished or adapted from other publishers under open licences. This page explains how to read our credit lines and what you can do with the content.

Republished articles

Each republished article shows who wrote it, where it was first published, a link to the original and the licence. Typical licences are:

  • CC BY 4.0: you may share and adapt, including commercially, if you give appropriate credit, link to the licence and indicate changes.
  • CC BY-SA 4.0: as CC BY, but adaptations must be shared under the same licence.
  • CC0 / public domain: no restrictions.

If you reuse a republished article, follow the licence stated for that article and credit the original author and publisher. TeaLamp does not claim ownership of other authors’ work.

Changes we make

We may reformat text, add or remove headings, add summaries or key points labelled as added by TeaLamp, replace interactive elements with static images, and translate or adapt text with the help of AI (credited as “TeaLamp Editorial Team”). Where we make changes, we say so near the top of the article. Articles are not endorsed by their original authors or publishers.

Images, charts and figures

Images are credited in their captions. Charts and figures taken from an original article are used under that article’s licence, and we leave out material that is subject to separate third-party terms. Illustrations created by TeaLamp or by AI are labelled accordingly (“Image generated by AI” where applicable).

TeaLamp’s own material

The TeaLamp name, logo, site design and original TeaLamp text are © TeaLamp. All rights reserved, except where stated otherwise or where the law allows use. Please link to our pages rather than copying them in full.

Credit, licence and takedown requests

If you are an author or publisher and believe a credit, link or licence note is wrong, or you wish an article to be updated or removed, please tell us through the Contact page. We will respond promptly. See also our Terms of Use and Editorial and AI Policy.
